Finishing pays the bills

Finishing is 25% of a power forward's overall, rebounding 20%, blocking 15% and defence 15%. Only 10% of the weighting is shooting and 10% is speed, so the position deliberately rewards players who win the paint and punishes those who drift to the perimeter.

That also means a power forward's overall is the least comparable to a guard's. A 79 here is a physically dominant player; a 79 at shooting guard is a rotation piece.

Contact is the whole job

Because shoves resolve with the type chart, a power forward who is on the wrong side of a matchup can be knocked out of a possession entirely. Check the type line before the ratings: a Water big against a Fire wing is worth more than two overall points.
