These tiers are computed, not argued: each player is placed by the overall the game calculates, within their own position. No cross-position comparison, because a centre's overall is built from a different set of ratings than a guard's.

| A | 82 to 87 | Starter quality at any level of play. |
| B | 76 to 81 | Solid starter, or the best bench body available. |
| C | 70 to 75 | Rotation player. Fine in Franchise, ordinary in Quick Play. |
| D | Under 70 | Only worth a pick if it evolves into something. |

How to read a tier list honestly
- Tiers are positional. An S centre and an S point guard are both the best at their job; they are not equally good players.
- A tier is not a fit. Two S-tier bigs do not make a great frontcourt if neither can pass or shoot.
- The D band is not a graveyard. Several of its members are among the most valuable picks in the game, seen at the right time.
